| Protaras is a lovely little resort perhaps getting slightly too many themed pubs now and far too many Elvis impersonators (while we were there, there were 8 on in seperate pubs on the same night). Perhaps the Cypriots have got a little confused about exactly what the British want. But there are a few great restaurants and many good ones all in the resort centre.
There many quiet secluded beaches which are lovely but take some exploring either north or south of the main resort to find. If you hire a car watch out for the police as I got caught with an instant fine for speeing coming back past Ayia Napa, all the hire cars have red number plates to help you stand out as well.
The Cypriot people are the friendliest people I have ever met on holiday and all seem so glad to have you there.
Never got to the Troodos mountains but spoke to a few people who all recommend a visit. |
