Cala Vadella is a beautiful little haven, which illustrates perfectly that Ibiza is not simply a party island. The taxi ride from the airport will cost approx 25 euros. Once in the tiny resort, there is a very reliable bus service every day that will take you to Ibiza town, which gives you the ideal contrast and shopping opportunities.
The Puerto Cala Vadella aparthotel sits almost on the beautiful bay itself. Fairly basic, but spotlessly clean and well serviced. We booked a one bedroom apartment which was very spacious. Quite spartan in furnishing, but perfectly adequate. The pool area is pretty, and incorporates a large seating area for lunch. We travelled in early May, when the hotel was only half full, so I cant really comment as to whether the pool side area would be large enough in the height of the season.
The reception staff are friendly and efficient. There is a small shop opposite reception which isnt very well stocked and quite expensive. The only other shop is at the other side of the bay, where you can buy most things you may need.
There are only about 6 restaurant/bars in the resort, so the use of a car may be handy if you fancy something a bit different, especially if you are staying for more than 7 nights.
The whole place has a completely chilled out laid back feel to it. The sunsets are fabulous, and the beach is terrific. Please dont come here if you want to party. If however you need to get away from it all, and completely relax in fantastic surroundings, this is the place for you.
The apartments represented excellent value for money, and we are looking forward to returning as soon as possible
