| Puerto Santiago Review: | | Written by Jean Paterson on 13 Nov 2004 about a trip in Oct 2004.
| If , like us, you like a fairly quiet place then Puerto Santiago is ideal. There is a great choice of restaurants and bars which cater for all tastes and most are pretty reasonable as well. A lot of the restaurants do set meals for around 5 - 7.50 euros and are excellent value. There is quite a lot of building work going on near the hotels by the beach but it looks like it could be finished by summer 2005. Parking can be a problem in the area - but that seems to be the same with most of Tenerife as so many people are hiring cars nowadays - a lot of places we have had no problem parking at before were an absolute nightmare this time and some times we just had to give up and go somewhere else. Be warned if you want to visit places like Masca then go very early or you will be disappointed. If you are wanting really buzzing nightlife then this isn't the place for you but if you want a few drinks and some cabaret shows then it is ideal. We have just come back and we were out till 2am nearly every evening at a bar that has 2 cabaret shows nightly then stays open till 2am!! Some of the hotels that do all inclusive do NOT provide very good entertainment so you may face the decision of staying in the hotel and being bored to tears or having to pay for your drinks elsewhere to get decent entertainment!! (We know because we spoke to people from some of the hotels in the bar that we went to and some of them were all inclusive!!)
We fully intend going back there June next year which will be our 4th visit there!! |
