| Puerto del Carmen Review: June 2005 | | Written by Nikki26 on 14 Oct 2005 about a trip in Jul 2005.
| I have been to Lanzarote three times now and would definitely go back again. We have always stopped in Puerto Del Carmen which is the liveliest resort on the island, in various accommodation. The first was the Elena Apartments which are in a good central position just across the road from the beach and more recently the Plaza Palmeras Apartments set slightly further back from the beach but really nice apartments with a large pool area.
One of our favourite bars was La Ola right on the seafront. It has a smart veranda with sunloungers and settees situated round a swimming pool and has a classy restaurant upstairs which serves a varied international menu. Bar Tropical and Route 66 were also favourite bars on the main strip. Another couple of good restaurants are the Lani’s chain and La Dolce Vita Italian restaurant.
We would recommend the day trip over to Fuerteventura where you stop for a few of hours and can either explore the town or sunbathe in the sand dunes, with a stop off near Los Lobos to swim and have lunch onboard before sailing back. Also the camel trip round Timanfaya volcano was great fun. |
