I have just come back from a week at the Punta Amer, and have never been so dissappointed by a holiday destination - both the hotel and the resort (S'illot) were poor - I would never go back.
First impressions were at least it was clean, however although the cleaner came daily I'm still waiting for her to mop the bathroom floor!!!
Although we were all inclusive the food was so bad that by the third day we started eating out - which meant we were spending money which we didn't budget for. The food which isn't eaten at lunch is regurgitated and put out for dinner - I don't think the chef knows what seasoning is!!!
The beer was ok - as long as you don't mind drinking out of plastic beakers! The wine was terrible - not very chilled, and as for the vodka - we found it in the shops selling for 4.75E (for a litre) - so goodness knows what it was doing to our insides!
The pool area is quite small and unless you get up at 6am to get a sunbed you've had it!! We ended up going to the beach!
As we were having to eat and drink out, we were very dissappointed by the service we received from 90% of waiters/bar staff - don't they know it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile?
The only good thing about S'illot is the beaches - both beautiful with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas.
To anyone considering the Punta Amer - don't - time in the Gaza Strip would be more enjoyble!

The place is so out dated it would be classed as a doss house in Britain
The food is so bland you lose your sense of taste- it's as if you were a naughty child who did not eat your meal so you end up getting it again and
again.
The AL alcohol is pure gut rot.
The staff were borderline ignorant and as for entertainment still waiting

I have just come home from this hotel it was AOA so I didn’t know anything about it, my first instincts were good it is clean, friendly and not very busy, plenty to eat although it is the end of season so it was quieter than usual, great being on the beach front. Good money exchange shop (commision free) along the beach front and even better Tabacs shop round back of hotel if you are only over for a short stay buying cigarettes.
