Great value for a 4 Star Hotel - although prices rise steeply in August. We went in the first week in July 2002 - had a marvelous time. Alghero is so unspoilt. Visit the historic centre of Alghero if you can. Pick up a bus from the village of Fertilia which is 400 yards away. Fertilia itself is nice for a evening promenade. Definitely go there again. Setember is very cheap at 60 Euros a night half board. Dei Pini Hotel up the coast is supposedly very nice with a slightly better beach - although It doesn't have a Pool.
The colour of the sea is almost Maldivian-like. Food is OK. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Hire a car/bike and go amongst the pine /eucalyptus tress towards Capo Caccia and Neptunes Grotto - views are beautiful and so unspoilt.
