Reina Cristina: Wonderful Hotel by Roamerkin |
| Posted 02 May 2007 about a visit in October 2006 | Overall rating: 9.3 |
My 16 year-old daughter and I stayed in this beautifully restored hotel for 1 week in October, our stay was all inclusive and the food was exquisite with canapes available most afternoons just to whet your appetite for dinner. Photos of some of its more famous guests adorned the walls of the splendid reception and also of the hotel in its heyday in the 1900's. The rooms are wonderfully proportioned with lots of space and a balcony overlooking the well-tended gardens. A 10 minute walk into Algeciras is well worthwhile with its old market squares and more modern shopping squares. The bus and train stations are opposite each other and the bus service to Gibraltar is frequent and inexpensive. As is the slow train to Rondo with its spectacularly high stone bridge and wonderful buildings and bullring. The hotel has lots of activities organised throughout the day including archery. An indoor, outdoor pool and sauna. Entertainment in the evening is first class and the staff very friendly. The hotel even provided transport to and from Gitares, where we spent the day beachcombing with Gibraltar rising majestically in the foreground. Highly recommended.

Reina Cristina: Just loved it by Fc |
| Posted 03 August 2002 | Overall rating: 9.5 |
From arriving to leaving, just loved the time at the Reina Cristina. We were all inclusive, so took adavantage of all the drinks and poolside snacks. The Hotel is like an oasis in its own exclusive secluded grounds which are beautiful. The staff were the just the best. The hotel overlooks Gibralta and its not to far to drive to Malaga, peurto banus or to Jerez for the riding school. Nearbye is Tarifa (famous for wind surfing) and you can also easily drive up into the hills. Never really went into Algeciras, but as a base, this hotel is 100% tops, the only trouble is that you just wont want to leave it to explore.
