Northern European hotels don't tend to have airconditioning, and thus if you do get a heatwave there can be real problems - especially sleeping at night in summer when the sun is so bright late into the evening.
I was lucky to have a room that only got really hot in the morning - others in my group on the other side of the hotel found it unbearable.
The other problem was the noise - Tallin must have some of the noisiest gulls in the world !
The rooms were a decent size, had free wireless internet, and the food was very good. It was worth taking advantage of the hotel breakfast, as the prices in Tallinn have shot up to ridiculous levels, especially in the old town - easily five times more than I'd paid before they joined the EU.
The trams go right past the door, although catching a tram is a bit hazardous, as the local drunks and vagrants hang around the stops and abuse the tourists - this happened to me twice.
