Some reviews you read of this hotel are a bit sceptical as it was originally built and run by the Soviet Tourist Board.
Don't worry - it's superb !
The views from the glass lift are breath-taking - even if you don't stay there just go to the hotel to sample these.
The room are spacious, with lovely picture windows, with views of the city skyscape from a high percentage of the rooms.
Plenty of choice on the TV, an excellent set of shops in the hotel, including a convenience store, with prices that you'll never see in Western Europe.
Couple this with a city as beautiful as Riga - excellent !
