Riosol: never again! by Joseph Redmond |
| Posted 20 June 2008 about a visit in January 2008 | Overall rating: 2.7 |
just a short review letting anyone who wishes to know a little more about the Riosol.well firstly, if your not a mountain climber this is not the place for you.it is situated on the top of the mountain.you will find yourself completely fed up getting taxies to the beach or the bottom group of shops.i tried on day to walk down to the beach.big mistake!absolutely shattered.my legs were shaking for atleast 1 hour after.it is all down hill which might sound easy enough but believe me,its tough!secondly, the hotel apartments are very shabby and in my opinion, should be levelled.it is completely overrun with cockroaches especially at night.if you left your door open...you are in trouble!the staff did try hard to keep the place clean but were really up against it.the food in the restaurant was good.it was a running buffet and you could eat what you liked.the only complement i could possibly give.i was there for 2 weeks and to be honest,i wanted to leave over the state of the place.it was to be renovated but i cant see them knocking it down so im sure its still bad.
finally, the entertainment is run by a complete fool.he has no talent and should not be on the stage unless its leaving town.i just could not believe how bad he was and i really cant understand how he got the job of entertaining.''clappy clappy''thats what everyone use to call him.i want say what i called him because its too rude.we paid nearly €900 each for two weeks stay there through a travel agency and they didnt even wear balaclavas.total nightmare!!!!

Riosol: Excellent by Eileen Brown |
| Posted 29 August 2005 about a visit in September 2005 | |
Have been here 6 or 7 times, going again this October, they treat you like old friends, email them and they try hard to give room in area you prefer and they have a bottle of wine for you and if you want they will arrange to have bread, milk, water tea and coffee etc waiting for you.
Staff pleasant and helpful (NEVER saw and cockroaches at any time)
Food very good, or else you are difficult to please. pool snacks value for money, Happy Hour in the afternoon good value.
Not bothered by noise but very handy for Europa centre which had good facilites for families wanting to eat, cheap, good quality food and these is a play area for the kids so mum and dad can get some peace.
Shakers do some amazing cocktails and Stavros the Barman is very friendly
thye also so brillaint Pizza's
Excellent place altogether, only down side is place (strreets etc) a bit shabby, need refreshing.

Riosol: Disaappointed by Lynda Rowsell |
| Posted 09 August 2004 about a visit in May 2004 | Overall rating: 6.0 |
Had stayed here 6 years ago and couldn't wait to get back but so disappointed. Outside bedroom windows is a terraced courtyard and you can hear every word being said in other apartments on all floors. Not the fault of the hotel but not a good place to go if you want to get your sleep. Apartments cleaned almost every day. We went half board. Breakfast was always the same but plenty of it. Evening meals very little choice. Entertainment VERY dated and the pool area at night is over run with cockroaches. unfortunately this is where the entertainment is held. I'm not in any hurry to return.

Riosol: Good standard accommodation by Mairi Walker |
| Posted 08 February 2003 | Overall rating: 8.5 |
Pleasantly surprised by the size of the apartment and how well equiped it was; full size fridge, microwave, all utensils and a tv with english cartoons, BBC world news and sky sports, charging 1 euro for every hour watched. Located at the top of quite a steep hill so be prepared for sore legs by the end of the week, however views are fantastic. Buses run frequently to the centre at 85c one way or flag down a taxi for comfort at 2-3 euros. Food at accommodation is fairly good but we did eat out on a few occasions as it was quite repetative. Stayed here in January 2003 for a week which we found long enough, although would happily go back again. Weather was excellent with temps in the 70's - a stark contrast to the snow we returned to!
