My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 1 night on our way back home from a 10 day trip to Koh Samui and we were so sorry it was only 1 night.

Location:
The hotel is situated on the river and the views at night are fantastic. We were happy to chill out in this area as we had stayed in the Four Seasons on the way out before our Koh Samui trip and it was right in the shopping district, however this hotel is removed and you would need to take a boat, taxi of skytrain to go shopping.

We took the hotel evening dinner river cruise on our evening and enjoyed it thoroughly. It costs about €40 each for dinner and the cruise and if you can sit outside at the front of the boat you can get the best views and feel like you are the only people there as they can only fit about 2 tables at the front. Dinner is buffet style and there is plenty of food for everyone. Wine is expensive by european standards.

Rooms:
We decided to upgrade from our Club access room to a suite on arrival as they offered it to us for an extra €40 and as it was our last night we felt it was worth it. The suite was enormous and was on the 24th floor (they only have 25 floors). It allowed you access to the club lounge where free drinks and canapes (including a hot main course) were served from 5.30pm to 7.30 pm each evening. It also gives you a quick check in and out on the 24th floor and as it very busy in main reception all the time it was nice to have the facility.

The suite is beautiful and the view of the river were great especially at night. The bathroom is well equipped and has lovely shower gels etc and plenty of them. Usual robes and slippers provided but also kimonos which is a nice touch.
The sitting room, bedroom and bathroom are large and the fresh fruit and chocolates are replenished each day. They kindly extended our check out time to 6pm as we had a late flight and allowed us to drink in the lounge until late evening with no extra charge.

Pool & Gym:
Pool is large for hotels in Bangkok. However beds are very tightly packed and you can have a situation where you have to climb onto the bed from the bottom as the two sides are up against another persons bed so be prepared to get to know your neighbour!! The water is quite cool and refershing in the main pool but the jacuzzi is just a very large hot bath and in 35 degree heat not for us. The service is good at the pool but they charge high prices for water.

The gym is very well equipped with individual screens, plenty of machines and free wiights and great views of the pool. Staff very helpful and friendly and can't do enough for you.

Food:
Breakfast is excellent and you can have it in the lounge or downstairs in the main restaurant (outdoor or indoor). We went to the main restaurant and there was everything you could possible want regardless of your taste. Eggs etc cooked to order and hot english tea provided (a miracle in Bangkok as they never seem to boil the water and it is always luke warm).

We did not have a meal in the hotel but we had the dinner cruise and as the food is provided by the hotel chefs we would recommend it.

Our recommendation on this hotel is visit it, will have to travel if you are shopping but it is of a very high standard and worth the trip. Get the upgrade if you can afford it, you will not be disappointed. Beds are so comfortable you will not want to get up!!! Enjoy.

A lovely hotel right on the river. I stayed in the Krungthep wing for a small supplement for 3 nights and the room had a great view over the river with a small balcony. The room was spotless and modern with every comfort. The staff were attentive at all times and made you feel really special – even remembering your name. The hotel restaurants are superb quality, especially the Thai one on the riverside – what a great place to eat, but not cheap. The hotel is located within a few yards of the monorail station, giving you access to all the parts of Bangkok your likely to want to visit. When booking try and get as high a floor as you can, I stayed on 5 which is the lowest – still with a great view but I can imagine higher room views are awesome. I totally recommend this hotel and it’s faultless service.
