Sharm el Sheikh shopping

5.0
The shopping is interesting! The shops have been built in a horse shoe effect parade. There are very few noted brands, Nike shop, about the most known.

The Egyptians will tout for your business and this can become a little boring after a while. Nice to stroll around as the area is completely flat.

The off licences are the only place to buy alcohol apart from your hotel. There is an excellent dive shop providing some very tasty gear and famous brands situated through the arch behind the Indian and Italian restaurants. There are a few malls, nice and bright but mainly offering the same type of gear.

Sharm el Sheikh nightlife

6.0
The bar that seems to be the most popular is The Camel Bar which is located up a stairway on the main drag of Sharm el Sheikh. There's lots of memorabilia from all over the world and the custom is to eat the monkey nuts provided at each table and throw your shells on the floor! We didn't immediately grab the custom and were quite surprised when the waiter came over and emptied our neat pile from the ashtray straight onto the floor - a la Raffles, Singapore I believe. It's also a great place to people watch as there are open windows looking down onto the street below. Various nightclubs but we didn't visit. Looked interesting though. No trouble at all and certainly no-one trying to sell anything illegal.

Sharm el Sheikh restaurants

9.0
We visited the Italian restaurant just along from the Camel bar called and it was excellent. In fact it was so good we practically ate there the whole of our holiday. At the back there is an Indian which was extremely busy every time we visited. There are lots and lots of eating places depending how adventurous you are, you can sit on large cushions and be waited on Egyptian style or you can go to the other extreme and have good old Macdonalds and other fast food if you intend to play it very safe. My rating is for the Italian and for the hotel we stayed in.
