Only stopped for one night as a stopover on the way back to UK
Arrived at nearly 01:00 and was told there were only smoking rooms left.
Not a happy bunny but could see there was little point arguing etc so accepted the two days free breakfast coupons and the promise of a smoke free room for the next day and went to bed. Asked for the room to be freshened, which was done quickly, but still unpleasantly smoky.
Switched rooms at 10:00 with no problem-strange how this room was not available at 01:00 ? Room looked a little dated, but comfy beds, fridge and TV, small toiletries in bathroom. Decent map of Montreal in room.
Amenities:
Good sized pool OK for laps, 45 people maximum. Lots of kids there that weekend. Two attendants handing out towels and signing in guests. Gym OK for about 6-10 users.
Wired internet charged at $14 +tax
Breakfast $18 for ‘American’ smaller options down to 12$ and a A La Carte choice. Not worth it.
Sign up to the Starwood Club bfreo you go (it's free) and you get a free bottle of water in your room (!)
Starwood P Guest Club on the 37th Floor. Breakfast and early evening appetisers available to guests booked in to the 34-36th floors-assumingly Starwood gold or platinum?
Airport Shuttle stops right outside hotel, every 30 minutes, takes about 20 minutes. Buy a return ticket as it's cheaper. ($14 e\w single or $12 e\w with return)
Great location for shops and downtown sights, easy walking to many places.
30 minute (steep) walk to Mount Royal for a good view. 5 minute walk to Peel and Bonaventure Metro.
Very nice hotel, would recommend it to all. Tends to get filled with tourist coach parties so can be busy.
