Sidari shopping | 9.0 | | There are loads of gift shops along the main strip in Sidari as well as supermarkets if you are staying self-catering. We went for a trip in the evening to corfu town (less than 4 euro booked through the travel spot [cheapest in town]) which has loads of shops. |
Sidari nightlife | 10.0 | | We went away with another couple and found the night-life to be really good. The bars stay open until about 3-4am and there is an open air club called Cesears that is open until 8am. The music played was a mixture- from 70s to chart. A few of our favourite bars were Falcon, Shakers Calypso, BED, Mikey's Inn (Irish pub) and Boleros. Drinks are 4 euros for a spirit and mixer and between 4/5 euros for a cocktail. There are offers on drinks however between 9 and 11pm where drinks are 3 euros! |
Sidari restaurants | 10.0 | The resteraunts on the left hand side of the strip are all good for greek cuisine. Some of our favourites were Symposio, Olympic and Roof Top Gardens (which has a lovely view of the sea). The chinese resteraunts Magic Wok (the nicest and also has a view of the sea) and China Town were the best in town. There is a mexican called Pancho's Villa that serves TexMex food and Churchill's that serves British cod and chips as well as sunday dinners and other traditional British food.
The only meals we had that we didn't enjoy were from Memories and a resteraunt down the side of Bar Premier (cant remember the name). The atmosphere was terrible and the food matched it! |
Sidari attractions | 9.0 | The main attraction is the Canal D'Amour that was formed by rock erosion. It's definately worth a visit. At the end of the main strip along the left you turn right at the Three Little Pigs resteraunt to the Canal D'Amour and Churchill's.
We were advised to go to Sunset Beach (by taxi only 8 euros) that is not well known about. You can go for drinks or for a meal whilst you sit on top of a cliff and watch the sun go down. It's really romantic! In the day time you can go down to the bottom of the cliff and sunbathe on the beach.
There's a large water park called Aqualand. Although we didn't go it is suppost to be one of the best in Europe. |
Sidari day trips | | Corfu town is well worth a visit, I wouldn't advise it during the day though as it gets so hot that you can't breathe! We went at 5:30pm (a 1 hour coach ride) until 10:30pm and it was lovely! There is a castle and loads of traditional shops and a harbour that the sun sets over. The resteraunts are quite expensive though.
Paleokastrista is also a good place to take a boat trip to, costs 12 euros from the travel spot, for an all day trip including BBQ and drinks where you visit the caves and crystal clear water. |
Sidari History and Culture | | | Sidari is on the Northern coast of Corfu and is one of the busier resorts on the island, although no where near as busy as Kavos. Sidari is famous for the Canal D'Amour where it is thought that people that bathe in the waters will find romance! |
Getting to Sidari | 8.0 | | Corfu airport is small but fine. We travelled at night and didn't experience any queues (although people that we spoke to that travelled during the day said they were queuing outside in the sun for ages!). The flight from Newcastle was only 3 hours and the transfer from the airport to Sidari was suppost to be 1.5 hrs although it took us nearly 4 due to dropping people off! Typically we were the last drop-off at the Beach Star apartments! |
Getting around Sidari | | There are loads of places to hire cars, quads, mope-heads etc although everything you need in Sidari is within walking distance. |
When to visit Sidari | | We travelled late June to early July and the weather was on average 40°C. We did have a storm one evening and heavy rain one day although the locals said this was not typical at this time of year. During the afternoon there was always a breeze coming from the sea that was really refreshing! |

| Sidari guide | | good all round family holiday | | shopping for food and gifts is so easy because there are bargains from one end of town to the other. but if you can't find anything get on a bus or trip to corfu town, a day shopping may not be... |

Hi jo, getting married at sidari town hall in june,we have done this through first choice, basic package is £310 but all relevant paperwork has to be done yourself through an approved greek consulate translator £600-700 this is a little confusing at first but everything is pretty plain sailing. Most weddings take place in the evening but you wont know exactly when until you arrive in the resort

Hi
I am getting married this year in Sidari. It is going to be in the Sidari Municipal Town Hall. I have been to Sidari 3 times and I have not ever seen it. I would like to know in what part of Sidari it is located and wondered if anyone else had been married there I would love to hear their comments.
Many Thanks
