What a great place! Wildlife abouts (ducks, monkeys, giant squirrels, chipmunks, frogs and geckos to name a few), food (esp. pastries) really excellent. Rooms are clean, large and well decorated. Good satellite TV and even a free TV guide in the room. We chose a superior room as it has A/C, but it only added $20 per night and was well worth it.
Really close to the famous rock fortress. Only downside was that drinks were a bit more expensive than most Sri Lankan hotels (captive audience!) but not massively so.
Open plan main building has bar and restaurant. A local 'band' play Sri Lankan music at dinner - and very good they were too.
