My family of three myself wife and 6 yr old daughter had spent 10 days in Aegina and had got to Athens aiport on the day of the hand baggage restrictions came in and all fights to england were cancelled we tried the hotel desk on arrivals level in athen's airport to no avail then walked over the road to the Sofitel (200 yrds). they had vacancies but were charging top price (260 Euros ) but hey you have to do what you have to do in those circumstances
Anyway the room was a double of resonalble size with all usual facilities phone tv minibar coffee ect they provided a put-you-up bed for my daughter. Our Double bed was sumptous as were the quilt and pillows. The bath and full walk in shower were the best I've seen in any hotel in the world (I worked 15 yrs for BA so Hey !)
Didn't try the resturant since my daughter wanted a Mc Donalds from the airport ??? kids ???? But there was two resturants and a coffee shop.
The swimming pool on the 11 th foor was open untill 9 pm and was of a good size and indoor pool and you could swim and see planes land on the runway.
I'm a poor sleeper in hotel rooms but slept soundly with no aircracft noise.
nor any noise from the a/c .
just a bit pricey but you do get what you pay for
