As a large group, 5 adults, 4 children and 1 infant we were looking forward to a lovely holiday. The pictures on the internet are totally different to the actual hotel infact you wouldnt know if was the same place!!!
The rooms are inadequate for 2 adults and two children(children above the age of 5 as the sofa bed matress was about 2" thick so would be very inadequate and uncomfortable for any children who weighed more than a few stone. The room smelt constantly of sewage or smoke (we did not smoke). We had a cockraoch in the bathroom in two of the rooms we booked and there were ants everywhere. The corridors outside the hotel were dirty, the entire hotel is shabby and needs total refurbishment, there is no airconditioning in the reception area, the airconditioning in the room was touch and go. Although we were half board we had to eat out for breakfast and dinner and the food was not edible. The pools were of good size but very murky and dirty. The childrens clubs do not cater for 11 years plus.
The holiday was a disaster, we were counting the days until we went home, we were very disappointed and upset. It was a total waste of money!!

Stayed here for a week in April 2002, the apartments are OK, clean enough. The shopping centre next door has a lovely Indian on the top floor, well worth a try. The walk to Puerto Del Carmen was lovely, and the pubs and shopping there is ace. The old port has lovely restaurants, open air and very romantic. I would love to go back to Lanzarote one day......

Sol Lanzarote has a great pool area and is in a nice beach front location. Really enjoyed our stay in Lanzarote
