I went to Magaluf in a group of five lads. We got to the hotel on the Friday afternoon and were burgled the following day when we all went to the pool. The safety deposit boxes are the size of a shoe box and it is impossible to store all your valuables in there. We got money, phones, cards, cameras and ipods stolen even though these items were in our locked rooms. There is obviously organised burglaries happening that the staff are aware of and to have no security in a nine storey hotel is absolutely ludicrous. Also on reporting that our rooms had been broken into the staff were not bothered whatsoever and totally unhelpful. Our holiday was ruined due to this incident as we spent a lot of the rest of the holiday getting our phones and credit cards cancelled and trying to organise to get money wired to a Western Union in Magaluf and also it took a few goes in the police station to find a translator so we could report thr incident. I would never ever return to this hotel. Not only did we get burgled, but the quality of the rooms was very basic and the toilets in the room stank of a smelly sewer. The only plus point was the location but the management of this hotel has let it down very badly. If you are thinking of going to Magaluf, stay well clear of the Sol y Vera.

Me and the girls stayed here in July 1999 and we thought it was great.
Not only is the hotel right in the heart of the nightlife but the apartments were a good size and very clean.

we went to magaluff on 5 june 2004 great place 4 young people,loads of stagnights and birthdays everywere, went 2 BCM, all yeh can drink for 11 quid and 4 free gifts which were good. It rained non stop for 3 days SO BEWARE, went to both aquaparks, they were top and the beach was perfect, there is non stop bars in magaluff but there are PRs everwere trying to get you in and they eventually do your head in and there just no way of avoiding them,
SOL Y VERA APPARTMENTS, wel what can i say ideal for everythink you need, food, drink, ciggies, maccies and shops shops shops, the appartment was very clean, and all the staff are very freindly and helpfull , but when you leave your room just dont leave your key in there by accident like we did because there is no door handle on the outside and i had 2 hang from nextdoors balcony to get over to ours to let us back in our room an this was on the 8th floor,it was like spiderman, the only thing which was bad about SOL Y VERA was the noisy people coming in drunk at 4 or 5 in the morning, so so annoying, but we would definetly stay here again if we ever come back.
