Beautiful, clean hotel & apartments, just the management to beware of! It seemed as if the English are treat differently than other european visitors. The rules there seem a little too strict, no football, no eating your own fruit or any other food around the pool, no parasols allowed to be put into the ground to protect babies from the sun & many other silly rules. The management only acknowledge you when you go to pay the bill, will totally ignore you at all other times. And also be cautious when you leave either your room or apartment as cleaners are lax & occasionally may leave your doors wide open as they did ours. But do not expect an apology as you will wait quite a long while.
The hotel & apartments are lovely though and we have been visiting for nine years now, it is only this year we have had a problem, & will be most likely visiting again next year.
Our son who is seven years old was gently kicking a ball on the grass of the hotel pool, when we were asked to stop him, no problem we said. The very next day a group of french teenage boys came to the pool & behaved in the most dangerous manner, throwing people into the pool just missing young children & playing with a ball around the pool, throwing from one end to the other over the top of other guests heads, but with no consideration for anybody else. Do you think they were asked not to use a ball in the same area as our son? NO. One rule for the english & one for the french!! This carried on for three days & still they were not told to stop.
If you have booked to go to the Sorrabona, there is nothing about the hotel, apartments, location that I could think of, apart from the above, that has given me a cause to complain. The whole establishment is spotlessly clean and there are more friendly staff than there are miserable.
It is a safe environment for children as the pool and play area are now all on one level & you can keep a watchful eye on them the whole time while you sit back and relax. Just be careful of the flooring surrounding the pool as when it is wet it is very slippy.
The location of the hotel could not be any nearer to the beach, there is only a road & railway line between the two, there is a small subway opposite the hotel to access the beach, the beach is also very clean, & you will see it being cleaned every morning by the council.
About every other night they hold different entertainment for you to enjoy, live music, flamenco dancers, & live music.
There is not a lot, bar the management, you won't enjoy about the Sorrabona.
