This is an ideal location if a quiet and relaxing holiday is required. Hotel is a 40min drive from Almeria airport. Hire car is a must if you want to explore. A good company is Doyouspain.com a 5door fiesta diesel with air con and a full tank of fuel was 161euro for the week. Pay by credit card as you get a better exchange rate. This equated to £101.00. This goes for every thing. use your debit card /credit card in cash machines for best rate.
Hotel is classifed as a 4* but we would rate it 3*plus compared to some 4* hotels. Staff, food, cleanliness could not be faulted. Advice if you like a drink and have children go all inclusive as drinks prices can make your holiday quite exspensive otherwise. The buffet restaurant allows you to taste a variety of both local and international dishes. There is also a pool bar offering snacks and refreshments throughout the day ( extra charge). There are two swimming pools with jacuzzi, water slide, fountains and an indoor pool ( open 15/10 till 15/5). Loads of sunloungers, and free towels from reception. Room facilities incude air conditioning television, limited British channels telephone and hair drier. Towels are changed daily if required. There is also a full entertainment programme offering shows, music, games etc. but this can leave a little bit to be desired on occasions. There is also a retractible clothes line on every balcony. Overall a very pleasant hotel.
It has a wonderful promenade, the beach is not sand but very fine crushed shells. Places to visit if you like markets they are held it Vicar on Sunday Mornings, Almeria football stadium car park Tuesday morning and El Ejido Wednesday's. Mini-Hollywood is a must but only half a day is required. The Moorish fortified palace of Alcazaba in Almeria is also worth a visit. You could spend a great deal of time here exploring the ruins, towers, baths, and dungeons. Mojacar a beautiful white village set in the mountains with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. San Jose was a terrific sheltered bay with loveley sand the list just goes on.
We booked independently through Fleetway Travel for the added security of Atol protection and flew via Easy jet Scheduled service. book early for best flight price we booked in March. Hope this review has been helpful and if you go enjoy, we certainly did.
