Wow.... what a description this Hotel gives itself on your site. Don`t be fooled - The Ritz it certainly is not. The 5 star restaurant it mentions, is actually a very expensive restaurant next door, and since when has Starbucks been part of a down town 1 or 2 star hotel (it again is actually next door), and I am certain it has no connection with the hotel. I`ve no idea where the Tapas Bar is - probably round the corner somewhere next to the Brothel!

However, for a bog standard City budget hotel, this hotel is ok. At least they do provide a complimentary breakfast - rather large stodgy cakes/scones and nice fresh orange or cranberry juice and unlimited coffe. The staff (only ever saw 3) were helpful and pleasant.

Amusing to read that they say it`s been refurbished - in that case it must have been pretty dire before. The lift certainly hasn`t been renovated.

Also, it does not mention that although it is convenient for down town Vancouver, it is also right on the edge of the red light/China town area - an area where you would not want to be out at night. We saw a particularly nasty fight when someone`s head was being smashed to pulp on the road and that was at 4 pm. It is also in an area of very sleazy hostels which seem to be catering for the large number of Asian students in the City.

Beggars and druggies are also a particular problem in this area.

However - to use as a budget base for a couple of nights, it`s ok, but their description of themselves on this site must have been written in cloud cuckoo land!!!!
