Stayed at Sunsuites Lufesa for Christmas 2004 and New Year 2005. Very smart and comfortable low rise apartments. No stairs so great if you have walking difficulties.
We booked direct with Sunsuites and after paying our deposit and arranging for a taxi to pick us up at the airport we didnt have to pay the balance until we got there in December!
We chose a 1 bedroom apartment with extra large balcony with sun loungers on (including mattresses for extra comfort). This did cost extra but it was well worth it.
The lounge area: well furnished lounge area with large sofa and armchair, ceiling fan, dining table and chairs.
The kitchen area: TV, coffee maker, citrus juicer, fridge, an extensive range of crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. A microwave is also available if you want it - costs nothing extra, you can also borrow an iron and ironing board.
Fresh bread and bottled water provided every day. Bottle of sparkling wine on New Year's Eve.
The bathroom had a large walk in shower, bathrobes, towels changed daily.
The bedroom had twin beds, ceiling fan, built in wardrobe with safety deposit box.
Also provided are beach towels. There is a pool which is heated to 24 degrees in the winter along with a snack bar and pool table.
The staff here can't do enough for you to make your stay a memorable one. If you are using your self catering facilities and can't manage your shopping they'll even carry it upstairs for you. The maid will fold any clothes that you leave out and put them back in the wardrobe.
It is VERY quiet at the Sunsuites Lufesa - really good for couples and anyone looking for a quiet relaxing holiday. The sunsuites are right across the road from the commercial centre so you do hear a bit of noise from there late at night but the doors from the apartment leading onto the balcony are double glazed so they cut much of this noise out.
As I mentioned earlier it costs a bit more to stay at these apartments but I feel it's well worth it considering this is area is flat, the apartments are so comfortable and its quiet - I got the impression that rowdy behaviour (if it ever happens) is strongly discouraged.
