I stayed at Tara Towers in December 2004. The hotel itself is clean and has a bar within the hotel although very pricey. The rooms were quite spacious with great views of the bay.
The hotel itself is not very central and because of the limited numbers of taxi's in Dublin city it can be quite difficult to get to back to the hotel if you venture into to the city.
We found the staff to be lacking in a basic level of customer service. They were very unhelpful and quite rude! If you venture out of the hotel at night and return after 1:00am a very disaproving security man has a few stern words for you.
The restaraunt/bar food was poor and when we tried to order food on Sunday at 4:00pm we were only offered a salad sandwich!
Also be aware the price you are originally quoted and the price they actually charge can vary considerably.
If you are looking for a relaxing weekend in Dublin this hotel does not offer this.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel for its location, food or general service.
Improvements are required urgently to bring this hotel up to a basic standard.
