Telmessos: Idyllic scenery-and the hotel and pool fantastic! by Amie Farr |
| Posted 12 August 2005 about a visit in June 2005 | |
Myself, and the rest of the people in my party, (family and friends-ages 7,12,16,16,41,45,48,50) stayed in Telmessos for 2 weeks during the sweltering 45 degree heat of July.
The pool is huge and never short of sunbeds, the rooms clean but a touch on the small side-but still excellent value for money. Maids lovely and will give you fresh linen, towels (in heart shapes!) etc whenever you leave your key at reception. Staff are friendly-bar menu good, but can't comment on the restaurant as we ventured into Town in the evenings to sample some "turkish delights". We found Ready Steady Cook, Robin Hood, Moonlight, Dragonaro chinese, and Pine Hills hotel Restaurant the best in town. (after eating went to Pine Hills-entertainment is fab and staff there are first class!)
I have been to Hisaronu 3 times in the past 4 years and it is such a beautiful place; the blue lagoon beach is stunning, the Town itself situated in the midst of picturesque mountains and is slightly cooler than downtown Fethiye. I'd recommend the market on Tuesdays you are guaranteed to come away with a bargain...or ten -(but it is massive and gets very hot and crowded so take plenty of water!) go to Hamish McTurk for your jeep safari's and a day out you will never forget!!
Overall, 9/10-Telmessos is a great find and I'd say is definately one of the very best hotels in whole of Hisaronu-and we'll hopefully be returning next year.

Telmessos: Brilliant by Tricia Sleigh |

I have been to this Hotel 8 times and every year it gets better.
I have stayed at alot of hotels in Turkey, and this one really is the best for price and quality. The rooms are clean the pool is to die for, and the staff are brilliant. The head barman speaks perfect english, and what helps has an english sense of humour. We loved coming back from the town to the bar as we knew it would be laughs all the way with him. Well done Oz, you made our holiday.

Telmessos: Telmessos Hotel by Julia Lynette Westlake |

Spent a week at the Telmessos at the beginning of September it was the first time we had been to Turkey and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very well presented and clean. We found the rooms to be plenty big enough, the balcony only had enough room for two chairs but we did not spend much time on it. If you left your key the room would be cleaned everyday with fresh linen and towels, we even had fresh flowers. We had a beautiful view over the pool which was a very good size and cleaned every day. The food at the pool bar was excellent and reasonably priced. We didn't get any hassle to eat there at night although we were asked to the turkish night but a polite no thankyou is accepted.
The only draw back was the noise from the pool bar at night, they will serve until the last guest goes to bed which could be late. I know someone who complained and they did turn the music down. It did'nt bother us too much but probably would if you have young children.

Stayed at the Telmessos for a week starting 22nd August. Small rooms, not much room in the wardrobes but very clean. Bedding changed twice a week and clean towels everyday. You have to ask for your room to be clean and leave the key with them. Friendly staff who can't do enough for you. Fantastic pool which was fairly big. Good location as well, just 5 minutes down a small hill to the main street with all the shops, bars and restaurants.
