The Grosvenor: excellent by Barbara Battersby |

The hotel was fabulous and very convenient. From the minute we arrived at the steps of the hotel until we left. The staff were all very pleasant and always willing to help. The location was excellent for seeing around. The breakfast was also of a really high standard.
Would difinitely return again.

The Grosvenor: Fabulous stay! by Maria Macdonald |
| Posted 15 November 2006 about a visit in September 2006 | |
Trip was for: Couple Short break
Visit again? Definitely
| My sister and I stayed here in September and we loved it!
The location great and so convenient - Marks&Spencer food hall round the corner and for the odd bottle of wine! Back at the hotel - the decor in the main lobby beautiful, spotless and the concierge was a lovely helpful man who was always polite and friendly, as were the receptionist who could not have been nicer.
The room was spacious, spotless and the bathroom in relaxing light green marble with loads of room. Plenty of snow white towels, warming towel rail, shampoo, shower cap, flannels etc - really excellent little touches that make it so enjoyable to stay here.
The breakfast was delicious with wide range of hot and cold, fresh bread rolls, lovely fresh melon, and several other fresh fruits. They even put a little fridge in our room for no extra charge which was so convenient to put our sandwiches and wine in! The chambermaid gave us extra tea bags and milk and sugar and she was so warm and friendly.
We love this hotel and will return! The trains, buses, and tube are there on the door step which was fabulous.

The Grosvenor: Great tourist hotel - ok for business visitors by A Smith |
| Posted 18 March 2005 about a visit in July 2002 | Overall rating: 8.0 |
Location:
A stone's throw from Victoria Rail Station, and not much further to Buckingham Palace, this is an ideal central sight-seeing location.
The hotel is fully geared up for the tourist, with all the help you'd expect - luggage minding, tourist info, trip booking, and little shop for essentials, in the foyer. I recall language assistance and lots of Japanese and American visitors.
Style:
Style of the hotel is traditional Victorian ornate and sometimes dark-ish decor, with colourful wilton carpets everywhere, and the hotel encompasses a large rabbit warren layout (charming nonetheless).
Many rooms overlook the ugly roof of the rail station, and suffer from the assosciated noise and smell. This is compounded by traditional sash windows - great if this is what you want - tourists might prefer "the real London experience", but business visitors might prefer double-glazed air-conditioned serenity.
My single room was not quiet, nor air conditioned, and the sash window was jammed open, so there was no escape from the noise, smell and summer heat.
Room Amenities:
TV, tea/coffee making, old-fashioned looking bathroom, but fully functional. Smallish room (I had a single, situated under the eaves!) with 3-foot bed. Very clean throughout the hotel.
Staff:
Staff were courteous and professional.
Food:
The full breakfast was hearty and quite good quality.
Price:
Around £100 per night including breakfast.
