| Have now visited Tsilivi 10 times in the last 6 years. I always stay at the Planet studios (formerly Margaris) and would recommend them. Spiros and his two sons Petros & Babis have recently refurbished the whole place and it looks great. The apartments are well furnished & clean, with a galley kitchen which has everthing. Many of the rooms have a bath as well as a shower. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. A favourite with repeat bookers, like myself. I think I know more local people in Tsilivi than I do at home. The resort itself is growing quickly, but has managed to retain its' "village" atmosphere.
Tsilivi has something for everyone: great tavernas such as Olive Tree, Family Taverna, Popeyes and Manos Grill: some really good pubs like Planet Pub, Magdelenas & Two Brothers. The beach is long and sandy and the water shelves gently so it's good for families with young children. For those of you who like to walk, Zante View, about 2 kms uphill from Tsilivi provides great views and even better photographs and a 30 minute walk takes you to Tragaki village which is very small, still unspoilt and very peaceful. I would recommend a visit to Tsilivi, you won't be disappointed.
A visit to Zakynthos town for a bit of local history and culture is a must. Also try one of the local coach or boat tours of the island, but don't use your holiday company to book as it's more expensive than using one of the local travel agents in the village. I recommend Spring Tours. Zakynthos is really a beautiful island, lots of lush greenery, mountains and lovely people to boot. |
