| Turgutreis Travel Guide: Turgutreis - A Turkish Gem.
| | Written by Shirley Hinks on 03 Aug 2007 about a trip in Jun 2007. Trip was for a group of friends on holiday. Shirley Hinks would definitely visit again.
| Turgutreis shopping | | As in all Turkish resorts, there are the usual shops selling the usual trinkets, but go towards the Marina and you will find many exclusive shops, selling all the authentic brand names. Saturday is market day, and the whole of the main square and the roads leading off are taken over by market stalls. It gets very busy because bus loads of people arrive from other resorts. It is one of the outings offered by tourist companies. Be firm and barter away, it is expected. Stick to your guns, and you will get a good bargain, as there is so much competition from other stall holders for your business. If you start to walk away the price will alter dramatically.
If you self-cater, there are several large supermarkets, money changing is easy, and stirling is accepted in most shops. There are several banks and cash points near to the mosque, and telephone facilities. |
