As we had booked on the internet without seeing it, we were a bit apprehensive about what it would be like. We arrived about 7.00pm on Sunday evening after a very pleasant drive on the motorway from Alicante. The Turmalina apartments were clearly signposted and were easy to find. The lady in reception was very welcoming and gave us the keys and directions to our rooms. We were in 15B, this means entrance “1”, floor “5”, and room “B”. There are two lifts and we never had to wait more than a few second for one. When we arrived in our room the curtains were pulled shut and it was very dark, and we thought, “What have we come into”. We pulled the curtains back to let some daylight in. and to our surprise the view that greeted us was spectacular, we were looking directly along the beach and promenade towards the “Penon de Ifach” a 332m high rock that dominates Calpe. Now that we could see our rooms better we were much more pleased with what we saw. As we came into the room we had the kitchen on our left, this had a full size gas hob (4 burners) and electric oven & grill. There was also a full size fridge and sink, and plenty of plates, cutlery etc. On the right as we came into the room was the bathroom, a little dated but perfectly clean and useable. We had a problem with the toilet, (the flushing knob fell off) we reported this to the reception and they sent a man first thing next morning to fix it. (Try getting a plumber in the UK to arrive that quickly!)
The Bedroom was off the lounge and this was perfect for the two of us, a comfortable, firm bed, and a fitted wardrobe with plenty of hangers. Although we did not make use of it, the pool area and water were kept very clean, and there are also tennis courts and crazy golf available at reception. There are a good selection of Bars and restaurants within easy walking distance of the apartments.
We had a very good week here and would not hesitate to go again.
