Turunc Review: The time of our lives

Visited 11th August 2003 until 25th August 2003. Having been to Marmaris for many years, we always called into Turunc, on the boat trips, staying for an hour or two. This year we decided that, as my wife and I were going on holiday by ourselves for the first time in 24 years, we would try Turunc. When we first arrived at the Sunset Garden Apartments I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The apartments themselves were very clean and the pool was brilliant. In the fortnight we were there we were never bitten by a 'mozzy' whilst in the apartments as there is a 'mozzy' man who comes around every week and sprays the surrounding foliage with a mosquito killer. Also a lady comes around and sprays for any walking insects. The breakfast fry up around the pool has to be one of the best in Turunc, real danish bacon, real sausage, 2 eggs, mushrooms, tomato, hp beans, toast and either a coffee or tea. The staff were always very friendly, good humoured and helpful. If you hand your key in every day then the apartments are cleaned every day. Simple as that. Always plenty of hot water and the air conditioning in the bedroom......bliss. As for the location - what could be better. We were minutes from the town centre, the beach, the Monday market. Everyone we met in town were very friendly and we were never subjected to any harassment (unlike the Bazarr etc in Marmaris). Found a small Internet Cafe in the Habit Bar and we were therefore able to keep in touch with family and friends. Didn't need to do any of the trips, jeep safaris etc as we had done them all in our past stays in Marmaris. So just chilled out and unwound and Turunc and the Sunset Garden Apartments are the ideal place to do this. Eating out was a pleasure and I can recommend the White Whale as we ate most of our meals there. Also enjoyed the Antik cafe as it was almost next door to the apartments (just beyond the petrol station) and the prices were very reasonable. There was never any trouble due to the fact that the local Jandarma patrol the town on a regular basis. The main street was always closed to traffic between the hours of 19.00 and midnight. I could go on about the place for ever but we will definitely be back, hopefully before next August. Heaven on Earth. Thanks Yavus and staff for a brilliant holiday.

Looking forward to holiday in Turunc. Been many times on Bay trips from Marmaris, 1992-1998, but never stayed there. Been to Las Vegas for last three years so looking forward to a nice relaxing time.

Update 01/09/2003
Had an excellent holiday in Turunc. August 11th - August 25th. It truely is heaven on earth. Will be back next year without a doubt.
