Venus: Hotel Venus By Beryl Reynolds by Beryl Reynolds |

SITUATION. The Hotel Venus is in an ideal situation if you wish to be in the center of the Levante side of Benidorm where you have easy access to many pubs night clubs bars and shops in the immediate vicinity.Straight accross the road you will find the open air market and the bus stop to lots of attractions in Benidorm .There is a pleasant walk straight down to the Promenade with bars and shops along the way it is also wheel chair friendly.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS.Our first impression of the Hotel was good. The check in was very quick and the reception staff were very helpful and friendly.the reception area is very smart with lovely leather settees and chairs in a cool relaxing atmosphere. An imposing statue of Venus De Milo which is floodlit in the evenings occupies the center of the reception.
ACCOMMODATION. On reaching our room we were very pleased as it was bright and clean and had a sunny position with a large furnished balcony overlooking the pool area. There was ample storage space for our clothes and a television where you could get sky news but to get the other programmes you needed to hire a remote control. There was a safety deposit box for money passports and valuables and air conditioning for the Summer months. The bathroom was one of the smallest I have come accross in Benidorm hotels and there wasn:t a bidet but it was quite adequate with a brilliant power shower toilet and well lit sink and mirror again spotlessly clean.
FACILITIES There are two bars in the hotel .One is the Dracma a lovely place with friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks. Here every Evening there was music for dancing. The other bar was downstairs adjacent to the restaurant where every evening there was a cabaret after the evening meal. The hotel has a hair dressers and a left luggage room. The pool area is gorgeous with a lagoon shaped pool with loads of sunbeds and two sun terraces. The only complaint being you had to get out early to get a sun shade .There are plenty of beds but the shades are a bit scarce. There are however lots of shaded areas with trees around the pool and there is an outside bar pool where you can get alchoholic drinks and also tea coffee and iced water. We noticed that provision for the disabled was good with ramps and easy lift access to the restaurant and bars. Also it was possible to get wheel chairs around the pool area.
FOOD. What can I say.The food was plentiful- well cooked-and every nationality was catered for.Do try the bread and butter pudding it is absolutely delicious. The restaurant is bright and clean and most of the staff are very very nice. There are choices at every meal time.full English breakfast .A choice of different dishes at lunchtime and again at the evening meal . There are too many dishes to go through them all.My only grumble with this part of the holiday was with two of the servers in the restaurant who needed some lessons in manners. You helped yourself to the salads and deserts but with the main course you were served with the meat and fish .I can:t understand why. There were two servers on and they were really abrupt and solemn faced to put it politely but this was our only grouse with staying at the Venus.
OVERALL. If a holiday of quality is your requirement then look no further than the Venus we will be going back.

Venus: Venus Hotel by Ian Webster |

Lovely Hotel, food great with good selection everyday, pool area fantastic with lifeguard, bar beautiful, bedroom clean but on the small side, staff absolutely superb with good English, what more can I say .......... The Venus Hotel is a truly excellent choice and its only short walk to bars and Lavante Beach.
The only downside, with this hotel was the evening entertainment wasn’t particularly good, but hey ... this is Benidorm, there is plenty going on outside!
