Stay here. What a position. It's on the Paseo and centrally located. Very clean, well equipped with good prices for rooms. Sea view rooms on the Paseo are a little more expensive but fantastic view. Small swimming pool with loungers on the roof.

The friendly reception and bar staff speak good English. The manager, Senor Andres Solis is very helpful with a great sense of humour. A gentleman.

Not easy to find their web site.I'm not allowed to list it but there is one. It's all in Spanish and I've bent Andres' ear about this. He knows that there should be an English version and will tell his boss. (They have two more hotels in Northern Spain, in the town of Laredo on the Atlantic Coast.)

Don't be put off by this. Contact them in English (phone, e mail or fax )and they will reply in English. Other web sites have information available.

Not rated the food as there are so many excellent restaurants around. Never eaten there.

Was asked to tick the box if I'm a Villa De Laredo expert. Thats not for me to judge but have stayed there many times. Never disappointed.

If you would like information about something a little more cheap and cheerful, try Hostal Los Corchos which is very close by. 200 yards. Another gem, not as well equipped and more Spanish in character, a little cheaper but equally enjoyable with friendly English speaking staff. Rooms have air con and sat TV. En suite baths. The whole place is spotless. (Again with a web site, e mail etc.) Ignore " Hostal". It's a proper hotel with all the normal facilities. Bar and continental breakfast room. Family run. Fantastic old photos of Fuengirola in the 1960's on the corridors.
