Vineyard Hotel and Spa: Vineyard Hotel by Mark Hirst |
| Posted 25 May 2004 | Overall rating: 7.0 |
Stayed for two nights in March 2002 to conclude a trip along the Garden Route after 10 days in and around the Kruger. The Vineyard was recommended to my wife and I, and we hoped that it would be a memorable end to the holiday. Unfortunately it didn't live up to it's top-billing.
The rooms were clean and spacious, and with a fabulous view, but really were not memorable. They were well furnished, but really could have been any business hotel. The gardens were delightful, but the swimming pool was not clean, and while the service was attentive, the food was average. All in all, a disappointment, particularly compared to many of the private guesthoses in Cape Town which offer far more memorable and personal accomodation - allbeit that it may be at the expense of not having a trouser-press!
