Vista Sol: A lovely place to stay by Charlotte Precious |
| Posted 19 May 2007 about a visit in May 2007 | Overall rating: 8.6 |
We(myself, my husband and my 4 year old son) spent 10 days at the Vista sol at the beginning of may for under £300. It was the second time we have been this year. Our room was very tidy, the room service was very thorough and the maids were always really friendly. Our view was nothing special, the slingshot ride outside could get noisy with screaming females but with the windows shut it was ok. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for good value and quality, we really enjoyed our stay there. It is at the top of a hill which is something to bear in mind if you have any mobility problems.

Vista Sol: First Class apartments by Paul Chapman |
| Posted 27 January 2007 about a visit in January 2007 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
Stayed for 5 days late January accompanied by wife, daughter and her 4 year old boy. The appartment was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. There was a daily maid service and the sheets were changed twice during our stay. The kitchen had a two ring ceramic hob, a toaster, fridge and microwave - but no conventional oven. Nice bathroom with bath, shower, WC, hairdrier & bidet - only complaint - no lock on the bathroom door.
There is an on site supermarket - it was a bit pricy but still useful for othe odd item. We did most of our shopping at a nearby BIP supermarket. Plenty of bars, restaurants, banks ant both Magaluf's beaches within a few minutes walk. There is also a bar in the complex.
The appartments are at the top of a short but quite steep hill - good exercise!
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Very nice indoor heated pool - not too deep - my grandson went swimming with his mum every day. Outdoor pool was closed for renovation (we were warned) but looked good with palm trees around it.
I highly recommend the Vista Sol - we will certainly be returning.

Vista Sol: lovely aparments spoiled by a few rowdies by Janette Matthews |
| Posted 08 October 2006 about a visit in September 2005 | Overall rating: 9.5 |
As soon as I booked the Vista Sol I knew my husband wouldn't be too impressed by Magaluf/palma nova. As we are both early 40's and our clubbing days are long gone, but as it was the end of September, and the offer at the Vista Sol was a good one, I ploughed ahead regardless.
Having stayed in this area on a number of occasions in the past (admittedly 20 years ago) I had fond memories, and was curious to see if anything had changed. It hadn't..Magaluf and surrounding areas is unfortunately stuck in a time warp. Excellent if you love coming away to burgers, chips, english breakfast, British bars and Chubby Brown/ Fawlty Towers/ only fools and horses booming out from every tv in every bar.
Its a pity that the Vista Sol apartments are located where they are, because they are actually very nice. Modern, spacious and well appointed. Nicely decorated and clean as you would expect from the Sol group of hotels. A mini market below, which is part of the complex, where you can purchase freshly baked french bread in the mornings.
The pool area was really nice. Quiet, plenty of sun beds available and a bar. The public areas were clean, and well looked after.
My only gripe was the large groups of late teens/ early twenties (english lads) that were staying at the apartments. Extremely loud at all hours of the evening and night, which I guess is only to be expected from this party area, but still managed to annoy the hell out of us. If you could pick these apartments up and place them in a nicer location, they would be fantastic.
