This is NOT an upscale, contemporary resort hotel and the swimming pool is NOT set in a beautifully landscaped courtyard oasis. We booked before we left the UK through Trailfinders who rated this hotel 1st class. Our stay included an automatic free upgrade to a suite because of the dates we would be there, however when the bellboy took us to our room, he told us he was surprised they had put us in this room, because it was the worst room in the hotel, despite being a suite! When we got to the room, although the room itself was reasonable, the only view out of 2 windoews was of the roof and NOTHING else. When we complained and asked to be moved, reception told us that there was a note on the system to say they couldn't move us because we had booked through Trailfinders. We said we would be happy to accept a 'standard' room with a view instead. We had that wish granted with a view of the car park - not what we had in mind for our 3 night romantic escape. Within 30 minutes we were down at the pool area, which can only be described as pool, concrete, sunbeds - certainly NOT an oasis. Where did all the palm tress go?? Needless to say, nothing could have kept us there. We checked out, without spending one night there and stayed in the most wonderful hotel - highly recommended - the Hyatt Grand Champions, 15 minutes away in Indian Wells - now that was an OASIS!!! Please, if you are expecting 1st class, DO NOT stay at the Wyndham!
