Hi,
I fell in love with Greece and the Greek people on my first visit in 1989, and our holidays have all been somewhere in Greece ever since. We have stayed on many of the islands, (some of them repeatedly) and several mainland resorts. Eventually, in 2005, we bought an apartment in "Pefkohori - Halkidiki" where we now spend three or four months of every year.
So, ..... with all this Greek experience we are a "mine" of (probably useless - but interesting ?) information about staying in Greece - especially "Pefkohori".
Learning to speak a little Greek will enhance any Greek holiday. The Greeks appreciate your "making the effort" even if you get it a bit wrong. They will probably laugh "with" you if you do get it wrong, ... but never "AT" you !. So don't be shy ! ..... have a go ! .... it's not as difficult as it at first appears once you learn the Greek alphabet. |
